imageRUNNER LBP3580

The imageRUNNER LBP3580 model is a new-generation, monochrome desktop laser beam printer that allow users to output up to legal size black-and-white documents for their workgroup needs with speeds up to 42 pages per minute (letter). The imageRUNNER LBP3580 model features a 5-line user-friendly LCD for operational ease, comes standard with PCL, Adobe PostScript 3, and Canon’s UFR II printing technology. The imageRUNNER LBP models are equipped with standard duplexing to save paper costs, and employ Canon’s RAPID fusing technology to reduce energy consumption and eliminate long warm-up times.

When you need a high-quality printing solution for desktop and workgroup document production, the Canon imageRUNNER LBP Series of laser printers delivers. This new generation of LBP Series is network-ready and integrates with your Canon MFPs better than ever for an outstanding fleet and MDS solution. Innovative device communications allows users to automatically route faxes from a Canon MFPs directly to the LBP printer. Canon’s MEAP technology is available on this LBP model, bringing MFP workflows conveniently to the desktop as well, maximizing user’s efficiency. And with the same administrative technology found in imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFPs, users can manage LBP printers alone or in a fleet/MDS environment with even greater ease.

Powerful Processing Engine

The Canon imageRUNNER LBP Series is powered by a system architecture that is similar to the current imageRUNNER line, and provides unparalleled speed, power and functionality. Fast processing of large and complex documents is further enhanced through expandable onboard memory. Whether the needs of users are basic or more demanding, the imageRUNNER LBP Series offers a scalable solution to all environments.

New User Interface

Users will appreciate the clarity of the 5-line LCD display and intuitive control panel of the imageRUNNER LBP3580 model. The distinctive panel features on-screen navigation to facilitate device setup, animations to help guide operations, at-a-glance consumable levels, and the status of current print jobs.

USB Direct Print

All devices feature two standard USB 2.0 (host) interfaces, one in the front and one in the back of the device for connection to USB memory media for direct print of PDF, JPEG, TIFF, and XPS files. USB card readers (MiCard Reader only) are also supported.

Front-Load Access

All models in the Canon imageRUNNER LBP Series are remarkably compact and feature front-load access to consumables such as drum, toner, fuser and paper supply. This enables the devices to be conveniently placed either on top of or below a desk, in a corner, or in previously unusable space.

Consistent imageRUNNER Print Driver Architecture

The imageRUNNER LBP Series utilizes the same consistent printer driver that Canon developed for the imageRUNNER line. By standardizing the driver interface across the entire imageRUNNER series – from desktop to production devices – users need to only familiarize themselves with one universal set of print functions. Each intuitive tab in the printer driver provides graphical icons representing the device, as well as the page layout of the particular print job being submitted. Additionally, the Dynamic Configuration function of the printer driver always displays accurate information on the device’s configuration options and installed paper to eliminate errors. The imageRUNNER printer driver is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh environments.

Printing Options

Support for PCL, Adobe PostScript 3, and Canon’s UFR II printing technology is standard on the imageRUNNER LBP3580, providing users with the flexibility to choose how to produce their documents. The Canon UFR II Print Controller is included in all Canon imageRUNNER LBP models. This proprietary architecture has been consistently proven to deliver faster output than PCL or PS page description languages for complex documents that include images, graphics and text. The UFR II Controller achieves high-performance printing by automatically distributing data processing between the print driver on the user’s desktop computer and the imageRUNNER LBP device. The intelligent architecture automatically determines the optimal balance of processing by analyzing the layout and graphic components of each page. This unique approach maintains exceptionally high print performance on office documents and PDF files.

Rapid Fusing System

The long wait for printed output is over since the Canon imageRUNNER Series requires no warm-up time from standby mode to produce documents fast. The power of the RAPID Fusing System is inside each model, which uses a special fixing film and ceramic heater unlike traditional roller-fixing devices. RAPID Fusing System provides exceptional image quality with zero warm-up time and reduces first print-out time, while requiring less heat and energy consumption. The TEC (Typical Electricity Consumption) value is only 1.9 kWh/week for imageRUNNER LBP3580.

Unleash new workflows with MFP integration

With the imageRUNNER LBP3580, get even more value from the imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP systems. This new generation of LBPs can receive print fax jobs routed from a Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP with fax board technology, providing the convenience of personal or departmental fax delivery from a central MFP while also reducing fax lines. With Canon’s pioneering MEAP technology embedded in the two new LBP models, businesses can now also leverage the workflows that previously could only be accessed from the imageRUNNER ADVANCE MFP. Solutions, such as uniFLOW Secure Print release for imageRUNNER LBP, help extend the value and utility of your investment.

Optimized for fleets and Managed Document Services (MDS)

Whether you’re administering devices in local offices or remote locations, Canon’s robust management tools make it possible to streamline complex environments. Canon imageWARE EMC is a scalable, web-based utility that facilitates centralized management of Canon’s single/multifunction models and other-branded devices. Built on an extensible framework, it enables remote management of device settings, discovery of new devices using automated tasks, and device error notifi cations via e-mail. Administrators can also push print drivers to PC-based desktop computers for rapid deployment. Canon’s innovative Content Delivery System (CDS) allows for remote upgrades of firmware and applications to prevent business interruption, while standard support for imageWARE Remote lets your Canon Authorized Dealer receive automated status and service alerts for the highest service levels.
